About Ghost Rider Leather: 20+ Years of Road-Tested Expertise

A Message from the Owner

Welcome to Ghost Rider Leather! If you’re looking for gear that actually fits, protects, and lasts, you’re in the right place. I’m a one-woman small business owner, and I’ve dedicated over two decades to helping riders find exactly what they need to stay safe and look good on the iron.

How the Birth of this Business Called Ghost Rider Leather LLC Started

2003: The "Flea Market" Foundations

Before there were algorithms and massive warehouses, there was the 23rd Street Flea Market in Panama City. In May 2003, I started with a simple booth and a clear mission: provide gear that actually stands up to the wind. Just a month earlier, in April 2003 is when I launched my first online venture, https://LeatherLollipop.com.

Those early days were my true education. I spent my weekends talking to bikers, listening to their frustrations with 'mall fashion leather,' and helping them find pieces that offered real protection. I learned that a good vest isn't just about the look - it's about the weight of the hide and the strength of the stitch.

2003-2006: Filling the "Leather Desert"

Back in 2003, if you were a rider in Panama City, Florida, you had a problem. There wasn't a single dedicated biker leather dealer in town. You either settled for 'fashion' leather at the mall or made the long trek up to Dothan, Alabama, just to find a helmet that fit. I saw that gap and decided to fill it.

I launched LeatherLollipop.com and a month later, set up my first booth at the 23rd Street Flea Market. This was before Harley-Davidson even had a storefront on the Beach. Even after the big brands arrived, local riders kept coming back to me. They saw that my gear was just as tough as the name brands, but without the 'brand name' markup or the massive corporate overhead. I’ve always believed that every rider deserves high quality protection without the high end price tag.

2006-2007: The Wood World Era: A Community of Craftsmen.

Our next leap forward took us off the dirt floors of the flea market and into the historic Wood World building. This wasn't just a move; it was an upgrade to a vibrant indoor marketplace. We built our own walls within that space, creating a dedicated leather sanctuary surrounded by antique dealers and local artisans.

Here is a commercial from our Wood World days that we aired on the local Fox channel in Panama City, Florida.

It was a unique shopping experience - customers would wander past rows of solid oak furniture and find themselves in a professional leather shop. This is where Ghost Rider Leather truly found its voice. Being the only leather specialist in such a diverse community allowed us to focus on what we did best: providing expert fitment and high quality gear to a growing family of local riders. I loved the independence of working for myself and the friendships we built with the other shop owners. It was more than a store; it was a community.

The Standalone Success: A Panama City Landmark

In the mid-2000s, we hit our biggest milestone yet: opening our own standalone storefront on Airport Road. I’ll never forget the feeling of seeing the sign I designed myself hanging over the door. It was a symbol of how far we’d come - from a flea market stall to a premier destination for Florida riders.

Inside, we built a biker’s paradise. One entire wall was dedicated to helmets, while our front windows were filled with high quality saddlebags and tool bags. We weren't just selling clothes; we were providing a local solution for riders who wanted to touch the leather, try on the vests, and trust the person behind the counter. We even offered layaway to make sure every rider could afford the protection they needed. We became the local authority that riders could rely on long before the big box stores arrived.

Here's a picture of our brick and mortar store. Don't call the number on the door, it's changed. Not long after I had the phone number put on the door, I had a chance to get the phone number I have had to this day that is very easy to remember, so that phone number on the door was updated back in 2007.

2003 to Today: Your Personal Leather Expert Online

The walls of the shop may have changed, but the mission remains the same. Today, I’ve taken 20+ years of 'boots-on-the-ground' experience and poured it into this digital storefront. I’ve taught myself the art of design so I can create the very size charts and guides you see on this site - ensuring they are accurate, easy to read, and built for real bodies.

Our online store without walls. This is GhostRiderLeather.com - the home of the best in biker leather appare, motorcycle helmets, and tons of biker tees and accessories.

Thanks for riding along through our history. As a thank you for reading, use code ABOUTUS2003 on your next order.

I’ve made it my mission to speak to you directly, offering the same 'over-the-shoulder' advice I used to give in Panama City. From my self designed T-shirts to our hassle free exchange process, everything here is built to give you the confidence to gear up and get back on the road.

From the Shop Floor to Your Door

Before we moved entirely online, Ghost Rider Leather was a physical "brick-and-mortar" store in Panama City, Florida. Those years behind the counter were my masterclass in leather fitment. I’ve personally helped hundreds of people try on chaps, find the right jacket weight, and understand the "math of the thigh."

I know that a 12XL vest needs to be engineered differently than a Medium. Because I’ve spent years zipping the zippers and buckling the belts myself, I don't just use generic size charts - I use 20 years of "shop floor" wisdom to help you get the right fit the first time.

A Legacy of Service

Ghost Rider Leather is a Military Wife-Owned Business. My husband served for 26 years, and we’ve lived the military lifestyle through every deployment and homecoming. We rode together while he was on active duty, and we understand the values of discipline, integrity, and looking out for your own.

Because we know the sacrifices made by our service members and their families, we proudly offer a Military Discount. It’s our way of saying "thank you" to the men and women who keep our country moving.

Why Shop With a 20-Year Veteran?

Most online leather shops are run by people who have never sat on a bike. At Ghost Rider Leather, I am the one choosing the inventory. I only stock gear that meets my "Road-Armor" standards for thickness and durability.

When you reach out via Text, Email, or Live Chat, you aren’t talking to a call center - you’re talking directly to me. I’ve stayed in business since 2003 by being honest, being responsive, and treating every customer like a fellow rider.

We are bikers too, therefore we are authorities about bikers and what they need to ride safely, comfortably and look good doing it! We know biker leathers and what it takes to ride safe! You can trust us with all your biker leather, helmets, boots, and motorcycle needs.

We know how to measure for leather chaps as we have helped many people try on chaps and fit them. We know the types of leather that are best for motorcycle riding and the types of jackets depending on how often you ride and if you are a weekend rider or a daily rider.

Most sellers of biker leather online have never been on a motorcycle and have no clue what to tell people who have questions. We have ridden motorcycles for decades and have worn leathers for decades, so we know our stuff. Just ask us.

My husband served in the military for 26 years and we know the sacrifices of our military personnel first hand and money is usually tight, especially for the enlisted men and women. Therefore, we at Ghost Rider Leather offer our military ONLY a military discount coupon.

Your credit card statement will show GHOST RIDER LEATHER as the merchant name. Thank you, your business is appreciated.

We are not just internet sellers like most online leather shops. We had a brick and mortar real life store located in Panama City Florida for several years, but due to a poor local economy in the Obama years, we had to close but we still have our online stores and have hopes in this improving economy to open back up our brick and mortar store!
